Kia Ora Whaanau
What a wonderful start to Term 4!
We began the week with Communion on Monday as we gathered for our first Chapel service of the term. Throughout the week, we also celebrated Te Wiki o te Reo Maaori. While this was postponed from its official date last term due to exams, it has provided a valuable opportunity to honour and celebrate te reo Maaori together.
It has been a pleasure to see our students leading these celebrations, supported by our Te Manu Arataki. On Thursday, Te Tāmatatanga whanau joined our kapa haka group to welcome and entertain our community as whaanau arrived for a special shared kai in the dining hall.
This week has been a timely reminder of what makes Wesley College such a special place. It is a place where Maaori, and all cultures thrive, where our diversity is celebrated, and where our faith remains at the heart of who we are.
As we move into the final term of the year, the focus is now squarely on our academic drive, particularly our senior students right now as they enter a critical period leading into the completion of their NCEA assessments. Our results to date are encouraging, but the challenge is turning potential into achievement. We greatly value your support in helping our students remain focused, organised, and committed through to the end of the year.
If you have any questions, or would like guidance on how best to support your child, please do not hesitate to contact their Learning Coach, subject teacher, or Dean.
We are looking forward to a terrific Term 4 and all that it will bring.
